Ivanović, Waitz: Continued commitment to Montenegro’s European future confirmed

Deputy Prime Minister Filip Ivanović met today with Member of the European Parliament Thomas Waitz.

The discussion focused on Montenegro’s achievements within the EU accession process, as well as the next steps required to close the remaining negotiation chapters and further strengthen the country’s European perspective. MEP Waitz, who actively follows political developments and reform progress in Montenegro, reaffirmed his support for the efforts of Montenegrin institutions in maintaining a stable and credible course towards EU integration.

He commended Montenegro’s progress in the accession process, emphasizing the importance of the country’s continued commitment to European values. Waitz also underscored that the European Parliament remains a strong ally and supporter of Montenegro on its path to EU membership.

Both sides agreed on the need to maintain reform momentum and uphold open political dialogue, so that—with the support of its European partners—Montenegro can meet its obligations and seize the historic opportunity to become a full member of the European Union.
