Montenegro and Styria sign Memorandum of Cooperation

Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Policy and Minister of Economic Development Nik Gjeloshaj and Deputy Governor of Styria Manuela Khom today signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Government of Montenegro and Styria, reaffirming their shared commitment to strengthening partnership relations and enhancing cooperation in areas of strategic importance for the development of both sides.

At the same time, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro and the Styrian Chamber of Commerce, further strengthening economic ties and creating new opportunities for business cooperation.

The Memorandum provides a framework for deepening the existing relationship between Montenegro and Styria through joint activities and projects in the fields of education, science, innovation, environmental protection, energy efficiency, healthcare, rescue and emergency services, economic development, European integration and local government.

Deputy Prime Minister Gjeloshaj stated that the signing of the Memorandum represents an important step towards strengthening Montenegro’s links with successful European regions.

He said that Styria is one of Europe’s most developed regions and a model of successfully integrating business, innovation, education and sustainable development. According to Gjeloshaj, the Memorandum creates opportunities for concrete cooperation among institutions, businesses, the academic community and young people, while making use of opportunities offered through European Union programmes. He expressed confidence that joint projects would contribute to Montenegro’s economic development, strengthen its institutions and accelerate the country’s path towards European Union membership.

Deputy Governor Khom stressed that Styria views Montenegro as a reliable partner and a country with significant development potential.

She stated that the signing of the Memorandum confirms Styria’s readiness to further strengthen cooperation with Montenegro and share its experience in areas that are crucial for sustainable development. Khom added that she believes the Memorandum will lead to concrete projects and long-term partnerships that will benefit citizens and institutions on both sides.
