The thirteenth session of the National Council for the Fight against Corruption was held, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister for Political System, Judiciary and Anti-Corruption Momo Koprivica. The Council reviewed the Report on the Implementation of the 2024–2025 Action Plan of the 2024–2028 Anti-Corruption Strategy. It was particularly emphasized that key systemic laws envisaged by the Strategy – such as the Law on Free Zones, the Law on Free Access to Information, the Law on Lobbying, and the Draft Law on the Government – have been adopted in line with the Strategy’s obligations, thereby laying a strong foundation for the overall anti-corruption framework. Members were also presented with the new Action Plan for the period 2026–2027, prepared by the Operational Team.

Following the discussion, Council members unanimously adopted the Report on the Implementation of the Action Plan, noting that the Strategy is being implemented continuously. They highlighted the need for further strengthening of institutional coordination and enhancing efficiency in the implementation of all activities and objectives set out in the Action Plan.

Special emphasis was placed on the implementation dynamics of the 2026–2027 Action Plan, which was adopted and submitted to the Government for approval. The Plan represents a key operational framework for continuing activities in the area of corruption prevention and suppression, as well as for completing reforms envisaged under Chapters 23 and 24 of the European Union accession process. In the interest of transparency, a round table was organized during the drafting phase, bringing together representatives of civil society and senior government officials, who provided constructive proposals and suggestions.

The National Council will continue to regularly monitor the implementation of measures and enhance inter-institutional cooperation, with the aim of strengthening the integrity and transparency of the public sector. During the session, particular emphasis was placed on the need for the maximum engagement of all institutions in fulfilling the obligations under the Action Plan, which represents a comprehensive programme for strengthening corruption prevention and combating corruption – of exceptional importance for the rule of law and the success of European integration.
