Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazović met today with President of the Republic of North Macedonia Stevo Pendarovski, who is paying an official visit to Montenegro. Montenegro and North Macedonia are friendly countries that share foreign policy goals and nurture regional cooperation that will contribute to democratization and EU integration, it was noted during a working lunch in Cetinje.

DPM Abazović pointed out that Euro-Atlantic integration has no alternative and that NATO and the EU are the only guarantors of long-term stability and prosperity in the Western Balkans. Therefore, the greater presence of these two organisations is crucial.

Joint engagement within the Alliance additionally strengthens our relations, but also our contribution to the collective system of security and stability in the Euro-Atlantic region, Abazović emphasised.

President of the Republic of North Macedonia Stevo Pendarovski stated that the two countries have excellent bilateral relations and that there is a lot of room for strengthening economic cooperation.

The two officials discussed the tourist and economic potentials of the two countries, as well as the impact of the current crisis caused by Russia's aggression on Ukraine.
