New public call for the employment of 514 university graduates as police officers

The Government of Montenegro has granted consent for the Minister of the Interior to announce, no later than the day after tomorrow, a new public call for the employment of 514 university graduates in the rank of police officer.

Around 370 selected candidates from the previous public call will collect their Decisions on Selection tomorrow and will soon begin work. Together with graduates of the Police Academy, this represents a personnel strengthening of the Police Directorate by around 500 young people. Efficient implementation of the new public call is expected, along with further legislative improvements that will enable the announcement of additional public calls and further expansion of the personnel base at the beginning of next year.

Personnel reforms continue through opening the system to new energy and a large number of young people, retaining and motivating true professionals within the system, and – through legally prescribed mechanisms – cleansing the system of all impermissible influences. Personnel renewal, historic investments in equipment, processes of modernisation and digitalisation of work, together with normative improvements, form the foundations for further recovery and the creation of a clean, strong, and resilient security sector.
