Nikolić, Paniklova: Working together for the 2030 Agenda

Secretary-General of the Government Dragoljub Nikolić met with UNDP Resident Representative in Montenegro Ekaterina Paniklova to discuss models for enhancing collaboration between the Secretariat-General of the Government and the UNDP Office in Montenegro. The discussion focused on implementing joint projects and activities aimed at achieving the goals of Agenda 2030.

The Secretariat-General of the Government continuously enhances its capacities to address the needs of intensified social development and the European integration process as a key priority. In this context, the Office for Sustainable Development makes a significant contribution to our goals, particularly in coordinating the implementation of Agenda 2030, stated Nikolić.

We are ready to provide strong support from the Secretariat-General of the Government to all important social processes, which will lead to faster and more efficient achievement of sustainable development goals at all levels, emphasised the Secretary-General of the Government.

UNDP Resident Representative Ekaterina Paniklova highlighted UNDP's nearly two-decade presence in Montenegro, resulting in tangible reform outcomes.

Enhancing collaboration with the Secretariat-General of the Government signifies the Government's readiness to work towards openness and greater transparency as pillars of democratic processes, she concluded.

The meeting acknowledged the continuation of a robust partnership defined by the programmatic cooperation framework between UNDP and Montenegro for the period 2023-2027. This framework, as assessed, is fully aligned with Agenda 2030 and the priorities of the EU accession process.

Deputy Secretary-General of the Government Irena Vučić Popović also attended the meeting.
