PM Krivokapić meets with EBRD Director for Western Balkans and newly appointed EBRD Head of Montenegro

Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić met today with representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), headed by the EBRD Director for the Western Balkans, Mr. Matteo Colangeli. The meeting was held on the occasion of the appointment of the new Head of Montenegro for the EBRD, Mr. Remon Zakaria.

Prime Minister Krivokapić welcomed the newly appointed EBRD Head of Montenegro, expressing satisfaction with the current cooperation between the Government and the EBRD. The Prime Minister pointed out that he was happy that the focus of future cooperation would be on Montenegro's infrastructural development, the green agenda, and the competitiveness of small and medium enterprises.

We want to get as close as possible to the standard of the most developed countries in Europe, and in order to achieve that, the role of our development partners is very important. We want our cooperation to be even better in the coming period, to the satisfaction of Montenegro and all its citizens, said PM Krivokapić.

EBRD Director for the Western Balkans Matteo Colangeli expressed the EBRD's readiness to support strategic investment projects, such as the second section of the motorway, further valorizing sustainable energy sources, establishing a credit guarantee fund and maximizing private sector investment potential. In that regard, Colangeli pointed out, the role of the newly appointed EBRD Head of Montenegro will be very important, adding that they are ready to improve the current cooperation in areas of common interest.

The meeting also discussed the upcoming Summit of prime ministers, which will be held on 3 December in Budva and attended by EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso.
