Press release by Deputy Prime Minister Aleksa Bečić

The Government of Montenegro, at its recent session and in accordance with the Law on Sports, granted approval to the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro to organise the Men's European Volleyball Championship (EuroVolley) in September 2028.
I am proud that I further developed and strongly supported this initiative at a joint meeting held a year ago at the Government of Montenegro, together with the President of the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) Roko Sikirić, President of the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro Nikola Kažić, President of the Croatian Volleyball Federation Frane Žanić, and Secretary General of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia and First Vice-President of CEV Ivan Knežević, stated Deputy Prime Minister Aleksa Bečić.
Sport brings people together and demonstrates how bridges of cooperation are built and how we look jointly towards the future. We hope for a positive outcome regarding the bid and the allocation of hosting rights by the European federation, which would enable Podgorica to host Europe’s largest volleyball competition in 2028.
