Prime Minister Spajić in Brussels – Montenegro to close Chapter 21

Prime Minister Milojko Spajić will lead a Montenegrin delegation that will participate in the EU-Montenegro Intergovernmental Conference in Brussels on Tuesday, 17 March. At the conference, Negotiating Chapter 21 – Trans-European Networks, which belongs to Cluster Four, will be closed.

The policy area covered by Chapter 21 – Trans-European Networks focuses on the development and improvement of transport, energy and telecommunications systems in line with European standards.

The holding of the Intergovernmental Conference and the provisional closing of Chapter 21 confirms Montenegro’s commitment to implementing comprehensive reforms and represents an important signal of the European Union’s confidence in the progress achieved.

Following the Intergovernmental Conference, Prime Minister Spajić, European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos, and Deputy Minister for European Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus Marilena Raouna will hold a press conference starting at 19:00. The visit to Brussels will also provide an opportunity for meetings with officials of European institutions. Prime Minister Spajić will additionally participate in the European External Action Service conference “From Insight to Impact” (FIMI Conference 2026) organized by European External Action Service.

The delegation led by Prime Minister Spajić will include: Ervin Ibrahimović, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maida Gorčević, Minister of European Affairs, Filip Radulović, Minister of Maritime Affairs and Coordinator of the Ministry of Transport, Predrag Zenović, Chief Negotiator.
