Prime Minister’s Office: The President should refrain from spreading false information and causing panic

Today’s statement by President Milatović is part of an apparent disinformation campaign aimed at spreading false news and inciting public panic.

Accordingly, the Prime Minister’s Office considers it its duty to react and inform the public that Montenegro will under no circumstances accept migrants from the United Kingdom.

Furthermore, as a future member of the European Union, Montenegro remains fully committed to upholding all obligations arising from the process of European integration and from international law, including those related to migration policy.

The President’s statements not only harm institutional stability, but also fail to contribute to maintaining good and friendly relations between Montenegro, the Republic of Türkiye, and the United Kingdom. Of particular concern is the fact that such statements could lead to diplomatic misunderstandings.
