Raičević participates in the 11th session of the Conference of the States Parties to the UN Convention against Corruption in Qatar

As part of activities aimed at strengthening the institutional framework for the fight against corruption, Vladan Raičević, Adviser to the Deputy Prime Minister for Political System, Justice and Anti-Corruption, who also chairs the Operational Team for Monitoring the Implementation of the Anti-Corruption Strategy, paid an official visit to the State of Qatar (Doha), where he participated in the 11th session of the Conference of the States Parties to the UN Convention against Corruption (CoSP).

This event represents one of the most important global anti-corruption forums, bringing together representatives of numerous countries, international organisations and civil society, with the aim of exchanging experiences and best practices in the fight against corruption.

During the session, Raičević had the opportunity to present Montenegro’s efforts in implementing the Anti-Corruption Strategy, as well as to exchange views with colleagues from other countries on challenges and achievements in this field.

He held a meeting with representatives of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), during which further cooperation was agreed. The next phase of this cooperation will focus on preparations for drafting a new Action Plan for the Anti-Corruption Strategy, which is expected to be finalised in the second half of January. With UNODC’s expert support, additional preconditions will be created for even more effective implementation of the National Strategy.

During the session, resolutions were also adopted defining rules related to the financing of political parties, the strengthening of anti-corruption mechanisms, and anti-corruption policies in the field of environmental protection.

This visit confirms the commitment of the Government of Montenegro to actively engage in global efforts to combat corruption and strengthen the rule of law, as well as to enhance cooperation with international partners in order to achieve more transparent and accountable governance.

The goal of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Political System, Justice and Anti-Corruption – and consequently of the Government of Montenegro – remains clear: the construction of a society in which justice and equality are fundamental values, and in which the fight against organised crime and corruption is a continuous mission.
