Minister of Foreign Affairs Đorđe Radulović participated in the NATO Foreign Ministers Meeting in the Republic of Latvia.

The meeting discussed issues related to Euro-Atlantic security and the next steps in the implementation of the conclusions of June summit, ahead of the NATO summit in Madrid in 2022.

Regarding the adoption of the new Strategic Concept, Minister Radulović pointed out the central role that the transatlantic unity and solidarity play for common defence and security. He emphasised that NATO's three essential core tasks - collective defence and deterrence, crisis management, and cooperative security are still relevant, but that they should be adjusted to the new security environment. In this regard, he stressed that the document needs to cover all challenges and risks, including those that were not covered by the 2010 Strategic Concept.

Furthermore, he stressed that a special focus should be on strengthening the resilience of allies, but also cooperation with partners, primarily the European Union.

The meeting also discussed Russia in the context of the current situation on the border with Ukraine. Minister Radulović reiterated support for the open door policy and Ukraine as a partner, emphasising the importance of continuing the Alliance's double-track approach to Russia.

Regarding non-proliferation, arms control and disarmament, Minister Radulović emphasised Montenegro's commitment to this issue and our commitment to the application of all international legal instruments that regulate this area.

Radulović - Rinkevičs

On the sidelines of the meeting in Riga, Minister Radulović spoke with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs. The meeting noted the excellent bilateral cooperation between the two countries, while Minister Rinkēvičs expresses support for Montenegro's European path.
