Road Safety Assessment of Montenegro

In the period from November 2018 to February 2020, the Transport Administration of Montenegro, in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs, the Directorate for Financing and Contracting of EU Aid (Ministry of Finance), and the Police Administration, successfully implemented the " Road Safety Assessment of Montenegro " project.

The project included the survey and analysis of 1,853 km of main and regional roads in Montenegro, using the iRAP methodology (International Road Safety Assessment Program), 16 road safety inspections at high-risk locations and training of local staff / officials.

The total value of the project is 470,000.00 Euros, of which the support of the European Union is reflected in the co-financing of 85% of the project value, while 15% is national co-financing. The project was implemented within the IPA 2014 program, within which, in addition to these activities, the digital database of Montenegrin roads was successfully completed, as well as the procurement and installation of a centralized system for measuring, collecting and storing traffic flow data on the Montenegrin road network.
