Montenegro extradites first own citizen to Serbia, according to agreement

Interpol Podgorica extradited Monday, 17 January, Bogdan Markovic, a Montenegrin citizen charged for criminal association and smuggling, to Serbia.
Markovic is the first Montenegrin citizen to be extradited on the basis of the agreement on the extradition of own nationals between Montenegro and Serbia signed in November 2010.
He was arrested on October 30, 2010 with five more individuals on the basis of the Interpol Belgrade warrant, soon after the extradition treaty was signed. The warrant was issued on the basis of the District Court of Belgrade order for the conclusion of the criminal prosecution brought against him on charges of criminal association and smuggling.
