Montenegro and USA set to boost cooperation in economy, infrastructure projects

Podgorica, Montenegro (23 January 2013) – Prime Minister Milo Đukanović hosted today the US Ambassador Sue K Brown and the representatives of the Bechtel-Enka Consortium, David Welch and Özger Inal, for talks on boosting the economic cooperation between Montenegro and the United States.
Prime Minister Đukanović and Ambassador Brown agreed to promote the development of economic cooperation between the two countries with the aim to enhance the strategic partnership and improve the living standard in Montenegro.
Representatives of Bechtel and Enka, companies very present in the European market especially in the area of road infrastructure, presented to the Prime Minister their plans for cooperation in this area and expressed their companies’ interest in getting involved in the most important infrastructure project in Montenegro, building of the high-way.
The officials agreed a meeting of expert teams of the Government and the two companies in the following weeks so they could discuss the offer in more detail, including the financing options.
