PM Marković hosts Ambassador Maruyama: Montenegro and Japan – strengthening cooperation in economy, education, science and sports

Podgorica, Montenegro (12 February 2018) -- Prime Minister of Montenegro Duško Marković hosted earlier today Ambassador of Japan to Montenegro Junichi Maruyama.

Congratulating Ambassador Maruyama on his appointment, Prime Minister Marković thanked Japan for its assistance to Montenegro so far.

The meeting highlighted the quality bilateral relations of the two countries, with the assessment that there is an opportunity to deepen relations, especially on the economic plan, in the small and medium business sector, as well as in the fields of education, science and sports.

The Prime Minister informed his guest about the fact that the growth of economy, development and job creation are priorities of the Government's work, and that the rapid and efficient use of our development potentials is a place where investors from Japan can find their chance.

Ambassador Maruyama also pointed to the possibility of transferring Japanese knowledge and experience in the field of rehabilitation of the consequences of natural disasters.

Prime Minister Marković and Ambassador Maruyama exchanged views on issues of wider importance for the region, as well as on certain global challenges.
