Prime Minister Dritan Abazović extended congratulations to UN Resident Coordinator to Montenegro Peter Lundberg and UN Secretary General António Guterres on the occasion of 24 October, the United Nations Day. Montenegro is a steadfast partner that is committed to fundamental values and respect for the UN Charter, fostering multilateralism, as well as achieving the goals defined in the 2030 Agenda, the Prime Minister stressed.

Abazović emphasised that the United Nations is the most important asset of the international community after the World War II, stressing that the UN must maintain its role as the principal instrument for maintaining the international order because only an efficient and inclusive United Nations can adequately respond to contemporary challenges and contribute to the realization of the vision of a better future.

Montenegro and the United Nations foster good cooperation and actively work in numerous areas that contribute to strengthening the institutional capacities of Montenegro, raising awareness of numerous issues, changing traditional social norms, greater inclusion in society and the fight against discrimination on all grounds.
