Abazović in the Parliament of Albania: We want to promote a policy of peace and cooperation in the region

Montenegro wants the best possible relations in the neighbourhood, to continue to promote the policy of peace and cooperation, but also to take concrete steps, said Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazović after a meeting with Chairman of the Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Party in the Parliament of Albania Taulant Balla.

DPM Abazović pointed out that Montenegro and Albania are facing similar challenges today, through their full membership in NATO and the desire to be part of the EU. Speaking about the improvement of relations, Abazović pointed out that infrastructure projects are extremely important for connecting the citizens of the two countries. In that sense, Abazović emphasised the importance of building a joint bridge between Štoj and Velipoje, but also the potential of the Blue Corridor for connecting the countries of the Western Balkans.

Chairman of the Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Party Taulant Balla said that the model represented by Abazović is the best for the region. Balla stressed the importance of strengthening parliamentary cooperation between Albania and Montenegro and stressed the importance of better infrastructural links between the two countries.
