Prime Minister Dritan Abazović met NATO’s Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe (DSACEUR), General Tim Radford.

Prime Minister Abazović stressed the importance of Montenegro's membership in NATO, assessing the decision to join the Alliance as historic, and stressed that the collective security system is a key segment in protecting security and stability for countries such as Montenegro. The Prime Minister pointed out that this year, for the first time, Montenegro will reach the planned 2% of GDP for defence, which confirms the credibility of our membership in NATO. Discussing the aggression against Ukraine, Abazović assessed that Montenegro is the first in the region in terms of the number of refugees admitted, which indicates that our country is a safe haven and open to all who need shelter, which has been confirmed many times throughout history.
