Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazović met today with Director and representatives of Kazakhstan's Air Astana. Although there was some skepticism after introducing flights to Kazakhstan, we can now say with great satisfaction that, during this tourist season, Montenegro opened a completely new market, DPM Abazović said. He added that tens of thousands of Kazakh tourists visited Montenegro. This cooperation needs to be strengthened and deepened in the coming period, Abazović said and added that the flights should continue during the winter period.

President and Director of Air Astana Peter Foster, Senior Regional Manager for Central, Eastern Europe and Turkey Susith Hettihewa, Chief Executive Officer of the Airports of Montenegro Goran Jandreoski and Deputy CEO Petar Radulović attended the meeting.

Abazović thanked Air Astana representatives for excellent cooperation, as well as for the significant tourist promotion of Montenegro in the past months.

Kazakhstan, a country with over 18 million inhabitants, can be a significant partner and an important tourist market in the coming period. Strengthening the ties between our two countries can benefit everyone, so - following this example, the goal is for Montenegro to open other new markets, to which it had no access before, the meeting concluded.

Abazović said that he hoped that in the winter Air Astana would connect Montenegro with the largest cities in Kazakhstan.
