Prime Minister Dritan Abazović has been invited by Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania Edi Rama to participate in the Berlin Process Summit, which is scheduled to be held in Tirana on 16 October 2023.

In addition to the leaders of the Western Balkan states and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, the summit will also be attended by French President Emmanuel Macron, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, and President of the European Council Charles Michel.

I look forward to welcoming you and to having the opportunity to assess the progress, challenges, and prospects of regional integration in the Western Balkans in these challenging times. At this critical moment for European security, we firmly believe that the Western Balkans must be supported and invited to leverage European mechanisms and programmes that are essential for European strategic autonomy on the global stage, Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama stated in the letter addressed to Prime Minister Abazović.

In the letter, Rama invites Prime Minister Abazović to jointly open the European College in Tirana on that day, an institution that emerged from the ashes of World War II to create a new generation of Europeans. It is a significant milestone on the European path of the region, with its rector being the former High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini.
