Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of European Affairs Jovana Marović met with Ambassador of Austria Karl Müller. The meeting noted that Austria unequivocally supports Montenegro on its European path and is committed to keeping enlargement policy high on the EU's agenda.

Ambassador Müller praised Montenegro as a leader in negotiations with the EU and expressed Austria's readiness to share its expertise.

Strong institutions and capacity building are the main mechanisms for further progress, the Ambassador said.

DPM Marović pointed out that Montenegro's negotiations with the EU have been going on for 10 years and that it is high time that the accession process was set as Government's top priority.

She pointed out that the focus of Montenegro's negotiation process with the EU is the fulfillment of interim benchmarks and obtaining final benchmarks for chapters 23 and 24.

It is necessary to initiate a political dialogue in order to resolve crucial issues for the continuation of negotiations and optimise the negotiating structure in order to increase the efficiency of fulfilling the obligations from the European agenda, Marović concluded.
