Bečić and Šaranović to pay an official visit to The Hague, Europol Headquarters

Deputy Prime Minister Aleksa Bečić and Minister of the Interior Danilo Šaranović will be visiting The Hague, the headquarters of Europol, tomorrow.

Recognising the importance of Montenegro's further European integration, a segment that cannot be neglected is the enhancement of regional and international police cooperation, as the fight against organised crime and corruption tops the list of priorities.

Therefore, the meeting with Executive Director of Europol Catherine De Bolle will be an excellent opportunity to continue aligning the normative and institutional framework with EU standards, as well as to intensify Montenegro's participation in international activities.

Aware that the fight against organised crime and its transnational components requires joint action on the international stage, in which Europol holds a special place, the Montenegrin police are particularly focused on cooperation with Europol and utilizing the benefits and tools at our disposal.

The meeting will provide an opportunity for the participants to exchange views on enhancing strategic and operational cooperation in 2024-2025, with a special focus on strengthening expert support to Montenegro in the field of interoperability of information systems of the Police Directorate and the Ministry of the Interior and new technologies.
