Cabinet adopts Programme for improving the competitiveness of the economy for 2021

The Montenegrin Cabinet, at today's session, adopted the Programme for Improving the Competitiveness of the Economy for 2021 worth EUR 3,000,000.00. 

Progress and acceleration of the country's economic development is one of the priorities of the Government of Montenegro. The Government has also expressed its commitment to this goal over the past six months, when it adopted two packages of measures to support citizens and the economy to mitigate the impacts of the crisis. However, the Montenegrin economy still feels the impacts of the pandemic, which is why there is a need for a set of programme lines of financial and non-financial support, which would lead to faster recovery and economic activity of the MSME sector, which according to all relevant indicators records dynamic growth and development.

Programme for improving the competitiveness of the economy for 2021, which will be implemented by the Ministry of Economic Development, aims to encourage the development of existing processes, products and services, in order to strengthen the competitiveness and export potential of micro, small and medium enterprises by improving productivity and profitability while maintaining existing and creating new jobs.

The programme includes 7 programme lines, five of which relate to financial support, and two program lines to non-financial support. 

These programme lines will enable the strengthening of the export potential and the improvement of the competitiveness of products and services.

The Ministry of Economic Development will announce a Public Invitation for participation in the Programme and individual programme lines.
