Deputy Prime Minister Aleksić visits Matica Srpska – Society of Members in Montenegro

Deputy Prime Minister for Education, Science and Relations with Religious Communities Budimir Aleksić visited Matica Srpska – Society of Members in Montenegro and met with its newly elected President Dušan Krcunović.

During the meeting, discussions focused on the social status of this important scientific and cultural institution in Montenegro, as well as the pressing need for it to be granted the status of a cultural organisation of national importance, following fifteen years of its fruitful work. The meeting also addressed the issue of restoring the Serbian language to the status of an official language in Montenegro, in order to correct what was described as an injustice inflicted by the previous regime upon the most numerous linguistic community in Montenegro.

President Krcunović took the opportunity to express his gratitude to Deputy Prime Minister Aleksić for the support and congratulations extended to him on the occasion of his election as President of Matica Srpska – Society of Members in Montenegro.
