DPM Aleksić meets with representatives of the Education Union of Montenegro

Deputy Prime Minister for Education, Science and Relations with Religious Communities Budimir Aleksić met with representatives of the Education Union of Montenegro, led by Union President Radomir Božović.

The meeting focused on the current situation in the education sector, particularly the consequences of the newly implemented centralized payroll system, which is expected to result in reduced salaries for a large number of education professionals.

Union representatives informed Deputy Prime Minister Aleksić about the steps already taken in response to the salary reductions, as well as the measures the Union plans to undertake to protect the rights of its members.

We call on Mr. Aleksić to personally appeal to Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and Minister of Education Anđela Jakšić Stojanović to resume the social dialogue, which has stalled for the last fifteen days.

Deputy Prime Minister Aleksić stressed that it is in the interest of all parties to resume the dialogue and to reach a compromise solution that benefits teachers, who represent one of the most vital pillars of Montenegrin society. He affirmed that he would support such a decision at the Cabinet session.
