DPM Aleksić meets with Special Representative of Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Chen Guoyou

Deputy Prime Minister for Education, Science, and Relations with Religious Communities Budimir Aleksić received today a Chinese delegation led by Chen Guoyou, Special Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China for China–CEEC (China–Central and Eastern European Countries) Cooperation.

Chen Guoyou stated that the Chinese government attaches great importance to developing relations with Montenegro, noting that over the past nineteen years the two countries have demonstrated mutual respect and understanding – both regarding political orientations and in the exchange of people, ideas, and broader cultural ties.

Our relations are a true example of friendly cooperation between two countries of different sizes, said Chen Guoyou, adding that Montenegro, as a future EU member, will be able to make a meaningful contribution to strengthening relations between the European Union and the People’s Republic of China.

Deputy Prime Minister Aleksić emphasized that education, science, technology, and culture are areas that best illustrate the strength of ties between Montenegro and the PRC, and that in the future – in addition to numerous ongoing projects – the field of artificial intelligence (AI) will become a key area of cooperation.

As the PRC is a global leader in various fields, particularly in science, technology, and artificial intelligence, I look forward to opening new possibilities for deepening cooperation and enhancing our bilateral relations. I am confident that our ties will grow stronger and our cooperation closer, said DPM Aleksić.

Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Montenegro Chen Xufeng also attended the meeting.
