DPM Ivanović meets with Reis Fejzić on the role of religious communities in Montenegro’s European path

Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanović met today with the Reis of the Islamic Community in Montenegro Rifat Fejzić.

During the meeting, they discussed Montenegro’s path toward the European Union and the importance of support from all segments of society, including religious communities, in achieving this common goal. It was emphasized that the Islamic Community in Montenegro maintains open channels for dialogue with the state, particularly on the issue of EU accession, and that it supports the country’s European path.

Special attention was given to the role of religious communities in Montenegro, their function within society, and their relationship with the state. It was affirmed that dialogue and cooperation between the state and religious communities contribute to strengthening trust, stability, and coexistence. It was also highlighted that the state stands ready to support religious communities, and vice versa, which is of key importance for maintaining good relations and jointly contributing to social development.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović to extend his congratulations on the upcoming Eid holiday, expressing sincere wishes that all citizens of the Islamic faith celebrate it in peace and good health.
