DPM Šćekić meets with Ambassador of Slovakia Boris Gandel

Deputy Prime Minister for Demography and Youth and Minister of Sports and Youth, Dragoslav Šćekić, met today with the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic, H.E. Boris Gandel.

The Ambassador expressed satisfaction with today's meeting and congratulated Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Šćekić on his appointment.

The Deputy Prime Minister presented challenges related to demography and emphasized that the Government is initiating the development of the first National Strategy for Demography and Youth, a document crucial in addressing significant demographic trends and brain drain from Montenegro.

Both parties agreed on the crucial importance of appointing a Supreme State Prosecutor, considering it an obligation for Montenegro on the path to European integration. They noted significant progress in Montenegro's judiciary with the appointment of the seventh judge to the Constitutional Court, as well as members and the president of the Judicial Council. Šćekić highlighted the need for changes and advancements in the judiciary.

They concluded that cooperation between Montenegro and Slovakia in the field of sports is exceptionally important, fostering diplomatic relations, cultural exchange, and facilitating exchanges for athletes, coaches, and sports officials. This collaboration aims to share expertise, training methodologies, and promote cultural understanding.

Šćekić extended an invitation for the Minister of Sports and Tourism of the Slovak Republic to visit Montenegro, fostering experience exchange and exploring possibilities for further collaboration between the two countries. This potential collaboration is expected to be of great significance for athletes and youth.
