DPM Zogović meets with representatives of Azerbaijani companies: Strengthening economic cooperation and infrastructure connectivity

Following his participation in the 5th International Parliamentary Conference of the Silk Road Group (SRG) within the OSCE PA, titled ‘Bridging Continents: Advancing Sustainable Tourism, Clean Energy, and Ecological Balance for a Resilient Future’ —hosted by the Parliament of Montenegro, Deputy Prime Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Milun Zogović welcomed a delegation of representatives from leading Azerbaijani construction and infrastructure companies.

The meeting provided an opportunity for a substantial discussion on investment opportunities in Montenegro’s capital infrastructure projects, as well as on mechanisms that could enable effective cooperation with international partners in the fields of design, construction, and reconstruction of key transport routes, urban zones, communal infrastructure, and energy facilities.

Deputy Prime Minister Zogović emphasized that Montenegro remains open to partnerships with reputable international companies, particularly those that bring expertise, technology, and experience in implementing complex projects.

The dialogue within the Silk Road Group, he noted, presents an opportunity to exchange ideas and plan concrete steps toward establishing more efficient links between Europe and Asia. Topics such as energy efficiency, environmental protection, infrastructure connectivity, regional cooperation and stability, and economic development are of crucial importance for our future.

Azerbaijan has been recognized as one of the most significant investors in Montenegro, symbolizing not only economic strength but also mutual trust between the two countries. This meeting further confirms the friendly relations already in place and opens new horizons for long-term cooperation.

Representatives of the Azerbaijani companies expressed interest in participating in future infrastructure investments in Montenegro, recognizing the Western Balkans as a region with considerable potential for development and connectivity through initiatives such as the Silk Road.

Montenegro’s stable political and economic environment, along with the Government’s readiness to strengthen bilateral partnerships, sends a strong signal to potential investors. Infrastructure projects represent a solid foundation for enhanced cooperation between companies from both countries in the construction sector. The positive record of cooperation across various fields provides a strong base for the continued development of bilateral relations and the realization of joint initiatives and projects, concluded Deputy Prime Minister Zogović.
