Following several months of consultations with the European Commission, conditions have been created for the implementation of the Directive relating to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), i.e. the protection of personal data.

In this regard, at today’s session the Cabinet adopted 12 amendments to the Law on Internal Affairs and 12 amendments to the Law on the National Security Agency. The amendments are the result of extensive consultations with the competent Directorates-General of the European Commission.

The adopted amendments fully enable the alignment of the aforementioned legal frameworks with the GDPR, as an obligation within the process of closing the relevant negotiating chapters, and in accordance with the requirements set by the European Commission.
