The mission of the Ministry of the Interior, which was successfully realized in the first 100 days of the Government, is reflected in the resolute fight against organized crime and high-level corruption and all forms of crime, full respect for human rights, maximum transparency and voter list maintenance.

Minister of the Interior Sergej Sekulović, within Government's video campaign "Potpisujem" (I sign) on the first 100 days of work, said that the Ministry of the Interior has already made clear and concrete steps.

"The Draft Law on Internal Affairs has been defined, which lays the foundations for our mission, which means a professional police, operationally independent, merit system, clear education system, through which personnel policy can be planned. Human rights, cooperation with the civil sector, the Transparency Council, all these are our successes in the first 100 days of the Government's work," Sekulović explained.

He pointed out that this department initiated the Council for the voter list maintenance.

He said that the Ministry of the Interior will not look like "and I don't think it already looks like what the citizens are used to".

"If we know exactly how many inhabitants actually live on the territory of Montenegro, not only do we have an accurate and up-to-date voter list, but we have a clear platform for conducting any public policy," said Sekulović.

"The Ministry of the Interior, as one body, in which the majority of the repressive apparatus resides, will operate in accordance with the highest European standards, which means serving the citizens of Montenegro. On the other hand, in terms of personnel, by respecting all procedures and all norms we got a new management of the Police Directorate in which I have full confidence and which I believe will be a strong partner in achieving this mission," said Sekulović.

He pointed out that the reforms have only just begun and that the citizens of Montenegro will soon be convinced of how strong our determination and firm will are.

"The police and the Ministry of the Interior will act politically neutral and in the public interest. That is our guarantee. We are building trust," said Sekulović.
