Healthy public finances are the basis of a healthy state, responsibility has been shown in the first 100 days, significant savings have been made without cutting salaries, pensions, capital budget, subsidies for the industry and social welfare benefits, said Minister of Finance and Social Welfare Milojko Spajić.

In the Goverment's video campaign "Potpisujem" (I sign) on the first 100 days of work, he said that the main task of that ministry and the entire Government is a better quality of life for all citizens.

"Healthy public finances are the basis of a healthy state, and in just 100 days we have shown that we bring security to the citizens. We issued EUR 750 million of bonds and we did not allow Montenegro to go bankrupt," said Spajić.

He added that the documentation on the borrowing is completely public and accessible to everyone, noting that it was done for the good of the citizens and implemented in line with laws.

As he pointed out, there has already been a reduction in public spending by as much as EUR 170 million or eight percent of the entire budget.

"We will propose such a budget - it is an incredible success of this government. We have shown responsibility, we will have the full implementation of the programme budget for the first time – we will know where and how every cent is spent. We have achieved significant savings, without cutting salaries, pensions, capital budget, subsidies for the industry and social welfare benefits," Spajić pointed out.

Taxpayers' money will be focused on essentials, not trivial and unnecessary things.

"We are returning the child benefit and increasing the minimum salary. We are working hard to make Montenegro a state of social justice. We have established a national airline. ToMontenegro will be sustainable on market principles," said Spajić.

As he said, a wave of return of young people and intellectual potential from abroad has been launched and "with the domestic intellectuals we are building a better future for the state".

"We are also fighting to make the economy better. The first package of measures contains about EUR 165 million of support, and every fifth citizen received one-time assistance. These are the results of the Ministry of Finance and Social Welfare in just 100 days, but they testify that we are on the way to make Montenegro better, more equitable and wealthier," said Spajić.
