Ivanović: Three intergovernmental conferences by August, Montenegro’s European path an irreversible process

Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanović stated in an interview with the MINA agency that Montenegro continues an intensive pace of negotiations with the European Union, with three intergovernmental conferences expected to be held by August.

In this context, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasised that the pace of closing negotiation chapters will depend on the European Commission’s verification process, but that continued progress in the coming months is certain.

He particularly highlighted that the start of drafting the Accession Treaty represents the most significant step forward in the negotiation process so far, confirming that Montenegro’s European path has become an irreversible process.

The Deputy Prime Minister underlined that Montenegro will continue to implement reforms in a responsible and dedicated manner, with the aim of fulfilling all remaining obligations and closing negotiation chapters within the planned timeframe, in full cooperation with the institutions of the European Union.
