EU accession and the negotiation process represent a strong cohesion factor in Montenegrin society. In addition, the continued high support of citizens for Montenegro's European path further strengthens this key foreign policy goal of our country, which is a determinant criterion for stability and strengthening of European values, said Chief Negotiator Zorka Kordić in a conversation with State Secretary in the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk.

On the sidelines of the Economic Forum in Karpacz, Kordić had bilateral consultations with representatives of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

She spoke with the Secretary of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk, Deputy Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland Ryszard Terlecki, and the former Speaker of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland Marek Kuchczynski.

The Chief Negotiator thanked Poland for its support of Montenegro's European path, especially in the context of the implementation of the New Accession Methodology, which implies more intensive participation of EU member states in the accession negotiations of candidate countries. She pointed out the need to further strengthen Montenegro's position as a leader in EU negotiations through a high-level political dialogue, given the clear geostrategic priority of a credible NATO member.

State Secretary Szynkowski vel Sęk congratulated Montenegro on the results achieved in the negotiation process, emphasising that Poland will continue to provide full support to our country in achieving its mission to be the next full member of the EU. Poland is ready to transfer its experiences of European integration and management of EU funds through the intensification of conferences. He concluded that there are concrete instruments for strengthening cooperation in EU sectoral policies under the auspices of the Berlin Process.

Deputy Marshal of the Sejm Terlecki said that the common foreign policy interest of both Montenegro and Poland is our membership in the EU, and that there are many challenges that we should respond to together, which is why the future enlargement of the EU should not be further delayed.

Kordić pointed out that Montenegro's membership in the EU is a strong cohesion factor of our society, given the continuously high support of citizens and the aspiration to reach European standards in all public policies. In the context of the strategic stability of the entire European continent, she pointed out that Montenegro, as a NATO member, follows a clear foreign policy and European integration provides complementary instruments for that. She added that we see various regional initiatives that Montenegro joins, primarily as a mechanism for faster achievement of EU membership.

The officials exchanged views on the intensification of cooperation.
