Laković: We expect similar police actions in the future

We are creating an environment in which the Police and the Prosecutor's Office can conduct their activities on the principles of legality and professionalism, without the influence of power centers related to politics, suspicious business or organised crime, so we can expect such and similar police actions in the future, said Miodrag Laković, National Security Adviser to the Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro.

Laković pointed out that the DPM's Office is making efforts to encourage all law enforcement agencies to, in accordance with the regulations and professional standards, systematically and efficiently take measures within their competence against all forms of crime, especially those with elements of corruption and organised crime.

In this sense, in the coming period we will work on strengthening these institutions, as well as changes in legislation, which will lead to higher levels of efficiency, better results, and ultimately, meeting the benchmarks for Chapters 23 and 24 as a key precondition for progress in accession negotiations with the European Union, Laković concluded.
