Spajić meets with Thai Prime Minister: Thailand to waive visa requirements for Montenegrin citizens

Thailand will waive visa requirements for citizens of Montenegro following the submission of an official request by the Montenegrin side, Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul announced during a meeting with Montenegro’s Prime Minister Milojko Spajić in Bangkok.
Prime Minister of Montenegro Milojko Spajić is paying a visit to Bangkok to take part in the Annual Meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, where he met with his Thai counterpart.
During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, building on their good and friendly relations, with a particular focus on medical tourism. They also emphasised the need to strengthen the contractual and legal framework to create more favourable conditions for closer cooperation between institutions and businesses in the two countries.
Particular attention was paid to tourism, an important economic sector for both countries with significant potential for cooperation. The exchange of experience, closer ties between the tourism industries and enhanced mutual promotion were identified as potential areas for joint action.
Montenegro and Thailand have a solid foundation for translating their friendly relations into more substantive economic cooperation. Tourism is one of our most important links, and a stronger contractual framework would enable us to turn the opportunities we have identified into concrete projects and partnerships, Prime Minister Spajić emphasised.
Prime Minister Charnvirakul highlighted Montenegro’s growing international recognition as an attractive tourist destination, as well as the potential for exchanging knowledge and experience in medical tourism.
Montenegro is increasingly recognised as a highly attractive tourist destination. Thailand is ready to share its experience in tourism development and support closer ties between our tourism sectors, confident that both countries can benefit from such cooperation, Charnvirakul stated.
The also discussed the importance of hosting the Annual Meetings of the IMF and the World Bank Group in Bangkok as an opportunity to address key global economic challenges and strengthen international cooperation. They noted that this part of the world is becoming an increasingly important meeting point for global leaders and a venue for shaping responses to shared development challenges.
The meeting was also attended by Montenegro’s Minister of Finance Novica Vuković and Governor of the Central Bank of Montenegro Irena Radović.
