Miljanić reminded that the accession negotiations with Montenegro started in 2012, adding that the country has opened all chapters but closed only a few.‎

‎We are particularly concerned about the previous stalemate, when it comes to Chapters 23 and 24, but we are encouraged by the progress made in the fight against corruption, which was also mentioned in the latest Report of the European Commission. We expect that Montenegro, as a small country with a rich history and tradition and as a leader in the Euro-Atlantic integration process, will become the first next EU member, which will serve as an an encouragement and incentive for other countries of the Western Balkans.‎

‎On the sidelines of the forum, Minister Miljanić met forum participants. Furthermore, the Minister met Miroslav Lajčák, EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue and other Western Balkan regional issues, and ‎Martin‎‎ ‎‎McDowell‎, Director for the Office of South Central European Affairs at the US Department of State.‎
