Minister of European Affairs Maida Gorčević and President of the Managing Board of the Institute Alternative Stevo Muk signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of European Affairs and the non-governmental association Institute Alternative (IA), which establishes a framework for joint action with regard to the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, with an emphasis on the openness and availability of information related to the implementation of the Reform Agenda.

The Memorandum, signed at the initiative of the Institute Alternative, defines coordinated communication and cooperation in the implementation of the project “Monitoring Reform and Growth of the Western Balkans,” aimed at creating an enabling environment for the active participation of civil society organizations in monitoring and implementing the reform steps envisaged by the Reform Agenda.

In accordance with the Memorandum, the cooperation also relates to monitoring and improving the implementation of the Reform Agenda 2024–2027, in line with national priorities in the field of European integration and the obligations arising from the process of accession to the European Union.

The Memorandum provides that the Ministry, within its competencies and applicable regulations, participates in meetings, consultations, and public events organized by IA, contributes to the exchange of information and the delivery of relevant documentation necessary for monitoring the implementation of the Reform Agenda and the Growth Plan, and provides opinions, comments, and recommendations on short public policy documents, analyses, and research prepared within the project.

Through the activities of the project, the Institute Alternative will organize meetings, consultations, and public events to monitor reform processes and enhance their visibility and comprehensibility to citizens, prepare analyses and research in consultation with the Ministry, and ensure the inclusion of civil society organizations, the academic community, the business sector, and other relevant stakeholders in consultative processes related to the Growth Plan and the Reform Agenda.

The project “Monitoring Reform and Growth of the Western Balkans,” in which the Institute Alternative participates, is coordinated by the Institute for European Policy – Skopje, and is supported by the European Commission, with co-financing from the Government of Montenegro, through the Ministry of Regional–Investment Development and Cooperation with Non-Governmental Organizations.
