Prime Minister of Montenegro Dritan Abazović met with President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani. They agreed that Montenegro and Kosovo have no open issues, and frequent meetings at the highest level significantly contribute to mutual cooperation. The common task is to specify projects of common interest in the field of economy and transport in the coming period.

The two officials assessed that it is necessary to improve the transport infrastructure. Prime Minister Abazović pointed out that the focus of the Government of Montenegro will be on the reconstruction of the Plav-Dečani road, as well as on the construction of the Rožaje-Peć tunnel. Both sides expressed commitment to work on finding a quick solution to the issue of the air corridor between the two countries.

Prime Minister Abazović pointed out that Montenegro pursues an inclusive policy and that it is sincerely committed to every type of regional cooperation, which it has proven several times so far.

In that sense, continuous efforts are being made in order to upgrade the existing relations with all neighbours, give additional impetus and open new opportunities for democratic, economic and any other progress in the region, he concluded.

Kosovo appreciates Montenegro's efforts in stabilising the region. Your progress in the field of European integration gives impetus to the EU perspective in the Western Balkans, said President of Kosovo Osmani.

The meeting was held on the margins of the annual Southeastern Europe Democracy Summit (SEE|DEM) in Bečići, organised by the International Republican Institute.
