Participation in the CSEC Conference in Sarajevo

Acting Director, Samir Orahovac, attended the CSEC Connect 2026 – Regional CERTs Cybersecurity Excellence Conference, held on 23–24 March 2026 in Sarajevo.

CSEC Connect is a platform dedicated to strengthening cooperation among CERT/CSIRT institutions, the public sector, international organizations, and the academic community, with the aim of enhancing cyber resilience and promoting the exchange of experiences across the Western Balkans.

The event brought together senior representatives from public institutions, international organizations, diplomatic missions, the academic community, and technical experts, with the goal of sharing expertise and addressing both strategic and operational challenges in the digital environment. During the conference, particular emphasis was placed on the importance of strengthening regional cyber resilience, enhancing institutional cooperation, and building capacities across the Western Balkans.

The thematic focus of this year’s conference included:

  • Cyber geopolitics and strategic developments affecting the Western Balkans
  • Harmonization and capacity-building of national CERTs
  • Legislative and regulatory progress in cybersecurity
  • Institutional cooperation and information-sharing
  • The role of the academic community and innovation in developing the cybersecurity ecosystem

Participation in such events represents a significant contribution to advancing regional cooperation, exchanging best practices, and strengthening capacities to effectively respond to increasingly complex cyber threats.
