Croatia is Montenegro's ally that best understands the context of the Western Balkans and from which we have high expectations when it comes to Montenegro's European integration, said Prime Minister Dritan Abazović at the meeting with Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia Andrej Plenković on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Prime Minister of Croatia Plenković invited Prime Minister Abazović to pay an official visit to Zagreb in June and congratulated Abazović on his inclusive approach in forming the Government and showing respect for the Croatian national minority.

Montenegro has Croatia's support on its European path, but relations in that sense should be intensified, Abazović pointed out.

Prime Minister Abazović thanked his Croatian counterpart for the invitation to pay an official visit to Zagreb, emphasising that the meeting is an ideal opportunity to further encourage mutual cooperation.

In a very difficult time for Ukraine and challenging time for Europe and NATO allies, it is necessary to show unity and solidarity, but also a strong will to oppose Russia's aggression against Ukraine with adequate mechanisms, said Abazović.

Furthermore, both sides agreed that the two countries enjoy versatile and high-quality cooperation and that there is a real basis for its improvement and intensification in the field of economy, tourism, infrastructure, ecology and sustainable development, health, agriculture and defence.
