PM Krivokapić meets with Director of UNDP Regional Bureau for Europe and CIS

Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić hosted UN Assistant Secretary-General and Director of the Regional Bureau for Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States Mirjana Spoljaric Egger.

Prime Minister Krivokapić thanked for the UNDP's contribution to the development of Montenegro, which has been evident for many years. The officials spoke about orgnaisation's future support to sustainable development projects in Montenegro, under Agenda 2030.

Prime Minister Krivokapić pointed out that the Government is undertaking activities to improve democracy, respect for human freedoms, environmental awareness of citizens, and affirm European values through economic development and financial support to citizens.

Through economic development, we will also strengthen democracy. All the processes we have initiated are aimed at enabling citizens to live a worthy life in the 21st century and achieving this as soon as possible, said Krvokapić.

PM Krivokapić presented the four Government programmes and the process of digital transformation of the public sector, adding that he expected positive reactions from all regional and European organisations whose mission is to support sustainable, progressive projects, and that cooperation with UNDP Regional Office will be improved.

The Director of the Regional Bureau for Europe emphasised that "this meeting comes at the right time" and expressed UNDP's readiness to support all projects in Montenegro related to the green transition and solving all environmental challenges.

We will help you, count on it. I hope for the continuation of good cooperation, especially in the field of digitalisation. We will work together to improve your capacities, said Spoljaric Egger.

Prime Minister Krivokapić and Director Egger also exchanged views on the need to establish a balance between the north and the south and stop emigration, especially of the young population.
