PM Krivokapić opens Consulate of Montenegro in Thessaloniki

Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić officially opened the Consulate of Montenegro in Thessaloniki, headed by the Honorary Consul Mr. Vassili Apostolopoulos. This is the first consulate of Montenegro in Greece for the region of Central Macedonia and is located in the building of the Interbalkan Medical Centre.

Prime Minister Krivokapić noted that the consulate will contribute to further strengthening relations between the two countries.

Friendly and, above all, fraternal relations with the Greek people are very important for Montenegro. Thessaloniki is a very important trade and economic centre and we are especially proud of our Honorary Consul Mr. Apostolopoulos, who with great strength, determination and love seeks to raise the brotherhood and cooperation of the two countries to a higher level, said PM Krivokapić.

I am honored to be entrusted to represent Montenegro and I will invest great effort and love to perform my duties consistently and diligently, said Honorary Consul Vassili Apostolopoulos, adding that he will work with Ambassador of Montenegro to Greece Ana Vukadinović on further strengthening the ties between the two countries at the political, economic, religious and cultural level.

I will do my best to support the European perspective of Montenegro, Mr. Apostolopoulos concluded.

We are convinced that Consul Apostolopoulos will perform his duties perfectly, said Deputy Minister for Macedonia-Thrace Issues Stavros Kalafatis, emphasising the two countries' deep friendship, shared history and tradition, expressing the will of the Greek Government to strengthen cooperation at the investment, economic, development and cultural level.

The opening of the Consulate of Montenegro in Thessaloniki was also attended by Minister of Agriculture in the Government of Montenegro Aleksandar Stijović, Ambassador of Montenegro to Greece Ana Vukadinović, Deputy Minister for Macedonia-Thrace Issues Stavros Kalafatis, the Governor of the region of Central Macedonia, the Mayor of Thessaloniki, Metropolitan Anthimos of Thessaloniki and numerous guests.
