Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić and Minister of Public Administration, Digital Society and Media Tamara Srzentić paid an official visit to the Municipality of Andrijevica this morning.

Prime Minister Krivokapić talked with President of the Municipality Željko Ćulafić and municipal leaders.

PM Krivokapić shared with his interlocutors his knowledge regarding the problems faced by the residents and administration of this northern municipality, but also the plans and solutions that should raise and strengthen the economy of this area.

Investments must be made in order for people to stay here. Without economic security, there is no prosperity. The project of strategic importance, especially for this area, is the motorway and its completion. Without road infrastructure, everything loses its meaning, said Krivokapić.

The Prime Minister pointed out that the Minister of Agriculture is in contact with the representatives of the World Bank, which could approve a loan for certain projects in Andrijevica and Berane. The Prime Minister said that there are realistic preconditions for the construction of a Japanese house, which would be a significant link in the cultural and economic cooperation between Japan and Montenegro through the village Japan, which is located in this municipality.

I know that the budget problem is always relevant. The functioning of the Municipality and its services without the support of the economy is impossible, but I hope that we will together reach a solution in the coming time. I know that the sports potential of Andrijevica is exceptional, therefore, it is necessary to rehabilitate the sports hall as soon as possible and enable children to attend classes.

The digitalisation of public administration aims at the digital society and we do not want anyone to be excluded from it, said Krivokapić.

President of the Municipality Željko Ćulafić said that the biggest problems of the citizens of Andrijevica are low standard of living, unemployment, migrations and weak natural growth, adding that these problems can be solved only with significant help from the state, i.e. the Government of Montenegro.

Minister Srzentić thanked the representatives of the Municipality for the warm welcome, emphasising that she advocates that every administration should be a citizen-centred service, and that the process of digitalisation and modernisation is precisely the support to the administration in order to do its job as efficiently as possible. I am glad that you listen to the needs of citizens, and we must solve them jointly, said Srzentić.

Vice President of the Municipality of Andrijevica Vesko Raketić praised the cooperation that the Municipality has been achieving lately with the Government and its ministries, emphasising the hope that this relationship will bring Andrijevica and all its citizens a more significant improvement.

During his visit, Prime Minister Krivokapić also visited the Protection and Rescue Service. The Prime Minister will also pay a visit to the Municipality of Berane.
