PMQs - PM Krivokapić: As Prime Minister, I have the right and duty to dismiss a member of the Government whose work I am not satisfied with

Published on: Apr 28, 2021 2:45 PM Author: Office of the Prime Minister

Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić said, answering the question of Ivan Brajović from the MP Group "Social Democrats of Montenegro", that there is no need for him to come to the Parliament when the dismissal of the Minister of Justice Vladimir Leposavić is being discussed.

"Why don't you have the Law on the Assembly, but you are referring to the Rules of Procedure? Why don't we have the Law on the Government? In the states that have the Law on the Government, the function ceases immediately after the dismissal, and if we had that law, we would not have to make assumptions. I am not making assumptions, but only the truth, because the truth liberates," said Krivokapić.

In a written answer to MP Brajović, Krivokapić pointed out that as the Prime Minister who manages the Government responsibly, he has both the constitutional and legal right to propose dismissal of a member of the Government whose work he is not satisfied with.

"In my work, I will not be enslaved to the expectations of either the ruling majority or the opposition, and for my work I am primarily responsible to the citizens of Montenegro and I will do everything to make the citizens who voted for changes and recovery of Montenegro proud of the Government's work, as well as those who have supported or still support the overthrown corrupted regime. What I can tell you with certainty, Mr. Brajović, is that there is no reason for concern for you personally or for any citizen of Montenegro regarding the work of the Government, because its work is not disturbed and is transparent, all its members fight with me and they will fight to expose all the misdeeds of the previous government, whose inseparable part you were, and all the work of the Government of Montenegro is aimed at healing the institutions of the system that you, as a coalition partner, destroyed," said Krivokapić.

The Prime Minister concluded that the Government of Montenegro is working resolutely and with full capacity on the changes which, as he said, are visible and which will be more visible to the citizens of Montenegro.
