PMQs – PM Krivokapić: I do not strive for power, but want better lives for Montenegrin citizens

Published on: Jul 29, 2021 12:45 PM Author: Office of the Prime Minister

Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić said that he led the coalition 'For the Future of Montenegro' in the parliamentary elections, saying that he did not betray it, and that those who did should be held accountable for that.

This Government wants Montenegro to be better, different, prosperous and to achieve standard of living of average EU countries. That is what citizens expect. They expect a better life. You have never respected the will of the citizens, you have not listened to people's needs, you have followed orders, you have acted in a tyrannical manner. This is the first time that the parliament functions like this, so let the ruling parties boycott the parliament. Why not, why something should not happen for the first time in Montenegro?! Now anything can happen. There are no more orders, freedom and democracy rule here, no matter what it looks like to you. You are used to dictatorship, which was replaced by the will of the citizens. Freedom is back, democracy is back, PM Krivokapić has answered the question of Danijel Živković, Head of MP Group Democratic Party of Socialists and the Liberal Party.

The Prime Minister said he does not strive for power, but that he wants better lives for citizens and that Montenegro becomes the 28th member of the European Union. He added that DPS deceives the people by stating that the Government has not achieved any results.

We need reforms, not what you did. Every party strives for power. But this is a unique moment in the history of Montenegro, unrepeatable, PM Krivokapić said and added that we should forget about divisions and unite in order to fulfill all obligations towards the EU by 2024.
