Prime Minister meets with MEDEF representatives: Montenegro–France Intergovernmental Agreement already delivering concrete projects; French companies eager to invest in Montenegro

French companies have shown strong interest in investing in Montenegro, and the contract for the implementation of the University Clinic project in Podgorica – a project of vital importance for Montenegrin citizens – with Bouygues is expected to be signed in Montenegro as early as next week.
This was highlighted during today’s meeting in Paris between Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and representatives of the Movement of the Enterprises of France (MEDEF).
The Prime Minister presented Montenegro’s progress and upcoming plans in the EU accession process, as well as the country’s investment and tourism potential.
Following my first excellent meeting with President Macron two years ago, we laid the foundations for a strategic partnership agreement between our two governments, which was signed and ratified by our Parliament last year. At that time, we had virtually no French companies operating in Montenegro, apart from one in the banking sector. Today, the picture is completely different, Prime Minister Spajić said.
The meeting brought together representatives of companies operating in the fields of energy, tourism, construction, healthcare, banking, water and waste management, and transport.
MEDEF representative Géraldine Lamblé praised Montenegro’s progress on its European path.
Montenegro is an excellent example in the region and the most advanced country in terms of its EU accession process – congratulations. The inflow of European funds and the strong commitment of international financial institutions further increase the attractiveness of the Montenegrin market. There are numerous opportunities in your country, and we look forward to working together, Lamblé stated.
As further confirmation of the strong potential for economic cooperation between the two countries, she highlighted the France-Montenegro Business Council, which, she noted, is ready to take concrete steps to strengthen bilateral economic ties.
As emphasised during the discussion, Montenegro and France have considerable potential to deepen their economic relations. French business representatives commended Montenegro’s impressive progress on its European path, as well as its open and business-friendly environment.
