Spajić, Renaud-Basso: Second section of the highway just one of the joint projects transforming Montenegro

The continuation of the construction of the Bar–Boljare highway further strengthens the strategic partnership between Montenegro and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), representing just one of a series of joint projects planned for the upcoming period.

This was the key message from the meeting between Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso, held on the margins of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

It was assessed that the tender procedure for the construction of the second section of the highway, from Mateševo to Andrijevica – conducted by the EBRD – was implemented in a responsible and transparent manner.

During the discussion, potential forms of cooperation across various sectors were considered, with EBRD representatives expressing readiness to significantly participate in government projects aimed at improving transport infrastructure, as well as developing the energy, tourism, and agricultural sectors.

It was concluded that the accelerated and visible success of reform processes on Montenegro’s path toward EU membership represents a clear signal to the EBRD to invest further in Montenegro.
