Privatisation and Capital Projects Council holds a session
At the session of the Privatisation and Capital Projects Council, held on 10 March 2026, the legal and financial analysis of the Initiative for the restructuring of the Hotel Group Budvanska rivijera was presented. The initiative was submitted in October 2025 by the company MK Group.
Following the presentation of the report by the consultancy firm Horwath & Horwath (Zagreb), which contains a detailed elaboration of two business models, it was concluded that further steps in the decision-making process of the Council for Privatization will depend on additional expert analyses and consultations with the relevant institutions and local self-government authorities.
It was assessed that maintaining the status quo would lead to a gradual loss of competitiveness on the market, which clearly requires identifying a model of long-term investment in order to fully realize the potential of this tourist complex.
Recognizing the importance of tourism for Montenegro and the need to modernize key tourism capacities, the Government will, taking into account expert analyses and the interests of the local community, decide on a potential arrangement that must meet all economic and environmental standards, while respecting the interests of shareholders, employees, and all residents of Budva and Montenegro.
